The New York Times Knows Where It’s At

This, from NYT’s The Caucus:

In June, young people across the country were showing more interest in the presidential campaign than they had four years earlier and, like the public at large’s, their attention has increased over the past six months.

Almost a quarter of young people now say they are paying a lot of attention to the race for the presidency. Combined with those who say they are paying some attention, that number is nearly two-thirds of voters ages 18 to 29.

In 2004 in Iowa, 17 percent of the voters at the Democratic caucuses were under 30. That was a jump of eight percentage points from 2000. So far, it is unclear who might be the darling of the younger voters this year.

But what is clear is that young voters are invested in the issues. Keep the trend alive: caucus on January 3rd!
